Concussion first response — Aotearoa New Zealand

The first 72 hours decide what recovery looks like.

KnockStop is a pharmacy-supplied first-response kit and a clear, clinically reviewed plan for the hours right after a knock to the head — for families, schools, workplaces and sports clubs.

Why KnockStop exists

Too many concussions get treated as "just a bump."

By the time symptoms are taken seriously, the early window for the right care has often already closed. KnockStop puts clear, simple action into people's hands from the first hour.

Our mission

Make early concussion support accessible across New Zealand, through a simple pharmacy-supplied kit and education for families, athletes, schools and workplaces.

Community-led

Built in honour of Billy Guyton and Shane Christie, bringing together health professionals, community leaders, and athletes who've lived this.

Clinically aligned

Every part of the kit and its guidance is reviewed against current concussion-care practice, with a clear pathway to follow-up care.

Clinical review

KnockStop is not a substitute for medical care.

It's a bridge to it. Here's where the kit's role ends and a clinician's begins.

Seek urgent medical care if: someone loses consciousness, has a worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizures, or becomes increasingly confused or difficult to wake. Call 111 or go to an emergency department immediately. KnockStop supports recovery in the hours after a knock — it does not replace urgent medical assessment.

The KnockStop kit

Everything for the first 72 hours, in one box.

Designed to be picked up the same day as the knock — no prescription, no appointment.
